Pahoa man, 56, charged with producing child porn

PAHOA, Hawaii -

The FBI says 56-year-old John Tucker of Pahoa was arrested Wednesday night for production and distribution of child pornography.

This comes after Big Island police conducted a search at the Hale Makamae Bed & Breakfast in Leilani Estates.

On Tuesday, the FBI circulated a photo in connection with the child exploitation case to identify the man in a series of pictures.

A picture of the owner of the bed and breakfast on the business' website closely resembles the picture circulated by the FBI.

An affidavit submitted with a criminal complaint says agents interviewed two children at the bed and breakfast who identified themselves in the pornographic images.  The children say the acts depicted occurred at Tucker's home at the bed and breakfast.

The FBI would like to recognize and thank the Hawaii County Police Department for their partnership in this joint investigation.

Tucker's lawyer Brian Delima says he agrees with an FBI statement that suspects are innocent until proven guilty.  He declined further comment.

Tucker has a preliminary hearing on Oct. 26.
