Pa. man, 33, charged in connection with Kihei bank robbery

Maui County police say a 33-year-old man from Pennsylvania, with no local address, was charged Friday in connection with a bank robbery in Kihei.
The robbery took place just after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Wailea branch of First Hawaiian Bank on Wailea Ike Place.
The suspect approached the teller with a note demanding money be placed in a paper bag.
The suspect left the scene on a silver moped, according to police.
Officers located a silver moped matching the description of the one used in the robbery. It was parked fronting the beach known as "White Rock" off of Old Makena Road near the Polo Beach Club.
Michael Flocco was arrested at 10:45 a.m. for second-degree robbery after the surveillance video from the bank was reviewed and Flocco was positively identified by bank staff.
The silver moped was impounded.
On Friday, officers searched of the suspect's moped and property and found $1,880. Of that money, $1,550 was confirmed to belong to the Wailea First Hawaiian Bank.
Flocco was charged with second-degree robbery. Bail was set at $20,000.
