The Attorney General's office is pursuing new animal cruelty charges against Lara Butler-Brady.
In 2010, The Humane Society confiscated 16 horses from her property on Kauai that were deemed emaciated and neglected.
A judge dismissed the case in May because the state exceeded the 6-month time limit for a speedy trial.
However, prosecutors had the option to bring up the charges again.
Brady-Butler entered a not guilty plea at her initial court appearance. Her trial is scheduled in October.
