The man whose actions led to lockdowns at Nanakuli schools on Tuesday has been charged by police.

49-year-old Gerald Fuentes made an initial appearance in court Thursday morning formally accused of kidnapping and auto theft.

Fuentes is accused of holding his girlfriend against her will before surrendering to police.

He was already awaiting trial for abuse of a household member and terroristic threatening.  His criminal history includes a conviction for manslaughter in 1984.
