Public memorial services have been set for Kumu Hula O'Brian Eselu who passed away earlier this month.
According to church officials, services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints Kalihi Chapel throughout the day on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.
Eselu died at his home in Halawa after suffering from diabetes.
His halau, Ke Kai O Kahiki, were crowd favorites at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival.
He taught the hula since 1979 and his halau always placed high at the competition in Hilo.
Eselu is survived by two brothers and one sister.
He was 56 years old.
