McNamara reportedly rides 100-foot wave off Portugal

Local surfer may have beaten his own record at Nazare by 10 feet

NAZARE, Portugal -

Local surfer Garrett McNamara is reported to have surfed a wave measured at around 100-feet-tall in waters off Portugal on Monday, according to The Guardian.

If the height is verified, McNamara would have beaten his own record at Nazare Canyon by about 10 feet.

McNamara was born in Massachusetts but moved to Oahu's North Shore at the age of 11.
