Good evening, I'm Paula Akana. And I'm Yunji De Nies. The victim.. A 77-year old woman all alone in an inferno.. KITV-4's Kenny Choi joining us now -- with tonight's TOP story. Kenny? Maui Fire officials say the blaze started early this morning... Around 5:45 AM. Take a look at some of this video of the fire that a witness captured.... and sent to us.. Fire crews arrived at 232 Kanani Road in Kihei to see this.. You can see the glow of the fire just above the roof... Maui fire says more than half the house was already destroyed by the time they arrived. They eventually put out the fire.. And found Hazel Jones who was pronounced dead on scene.. 02:07 she was in bedroom tried to crawl out bedroom crawl out front door.. And just didn't quite make it." 1:52 she was a tough lady.. Lot of friends.. Defintiley will be missed" It took Firefighters a little over an hour to put out the blaze. They say Jones was the only resident there. Damage estimated at $300,000 to the 3 bedroom home. This is being classified as an unattended death. Fire officials say they are investigating the official cause, but say it appears to be accidental.
