A grand re-opening for a Manoa church that serves MORE than its parishioners. The Manoa Valley Church opened in 1946 and features an educational and gymnasium complex. The nearly 2-million dollar renovation includes improvements to classrooms, new staff offices, a large multi- purpose activity room as well as A-D-A compliant restrooms. But church officials say -- the experience was MORE than getting a new facility. Anne Findlay-Chamberlain: "I ENVISION THIS AS A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN SIT AND RELAX AND ENJOY BEING IN MANOA. YOU KNOW , BUT THE BIGGEST THING THAT GOT RENOVATED, I MEAN, RENOVATE BUIDINGS, BUT I THINK MORE THAN ANYTHING WE RENOVATED OURSELVES. IT WAS A REALLY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE." Visitors enjoyed guided tours, live music, food, and even a keiki zumba session.
