Honolulu police say a 25-year-old man who crashed his car near the Pearl City Sam's Club early Sunday morning has died.

The medical examiner's office has identified the man as Jordan Kakiva.

Investigators say the Waipahu man was critically injured when his car went off the road and down an embankment.

Farrington Highway, near the Kamehameha Highway junction, was closed for a couple of hours while crews pulled out the car.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
