Honolulu paramedics rushed a 33-year-old man to the hospital Wednesday night in critical condition after he apparently fell into the Ala Wai Canal, according to city Emergency Services Department officials.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Ala Wai Boulevard near Nahua Street.

Bystanders found the man floating in the water. No word on his current condition.
