A man in his 70s was killed and another man was injured when the golf cart they were riding in plunged into a ditch at the Waialae Country Club Wednesday, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.

The incident happened at around noon.

The man in his 70s was taken to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition and later died.

The medical examiner's office has identified the man as Yoshitada Kambayashi, 74, from Tokyo, Japan.

He died from multiple traumatic injuries from the golf cart crash.

The other person in the cart, a 34-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
