Honolulu police say a 50-year-old man died Sunday after snorkeling in waters off Waikiki.

He was transported to Straub Clinic & Hospital in extremely critical condition where he later died.

Witnesses say the man was found floating face down in the lagoon fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village around noon Sunday.

Bystanders pulled him out of the water and gave him CPR until paramedics arrived.
