Honolulu police say a man in his 60s was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday night after crashing his motorcycle in Waiahole.
Officers say the crash happened on Kamehameha Highway by the Waiahole Poi Factory near Waiahole Valley Road at around 9:40 p.m.
Investigators say the man lost control of his motorcycle on a turn and slammed into a sign.
Police closed both directions of Kamehameha Highway during the investigation.
Investigators believe the man may have been speeding, but are unsure if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The road was reopened at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
