Man accused of trying to steal Christmas lights arrested

HONOLULU -

Honolulu police say a 43-year-old man was arrested Thursday accused of trying to steal Christmas lights from a residence in Papakolea.

At around 2:20 a.m. Thursday, a resident on Moreira Street saw a man on his property trying to take his outdoor Christmas lights.

The resident called 911 to report the incident.

Officers searched the area for the man.  The suspect was detained on Tantalus Drive near Papakolea Park.

The suspect was arrested for several warrants including attempted theft, drug offenses and property damage.
