Honolulu police charged 52-year-old Andrew K. Brown Wednesday with attempted murder after he was accused of setting his girlfriend on fire.

Police believe Brown and his girlfriend were fighting in their live-in barge Monday, near Heeia Kea Pier, when he reportedly hit her several times with a guitar.

The victim told officers that he splashed rubbing alcohol on her arm and lit it on fire.

Brown has 17 prior criminal convictions in Hawaii.

Bail was set at $25,000.
