Honolulu police arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman who was driving in Waianae.
29-year-old James Stanford III was charged with second degree attempted murder and violation of a protective order.
According to a police report, the 28-year-old victim said she was arguing with the suspect and it turned physical last Saturday just before 10 p.m.
The woman claims she was struck in the face and head while driving.
She tried to maintain control of her vehicle despite being assaulted when the suspect placed his hand on her knee, forced her foot onto the gas pedal making the vehicle speed up, and he told her she was going to die.
