Man, 54, charged with breaking into Pepeekeo home
Big Island police have charged a former Pepeekeo man for a break-in that occurred in February in Pepeekeo.
At 10 a.m. Friday, after conferring with prosecutors, Ralph Curtis Riveira, 54, of no permanent address, was charged for one count of first degree unauthorized entry into a dwelling.
Bail for Riveira was set at $5,000 and he was scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday afternoon.
On February 17, at around 10:35 a.m., a 59-year-old Pepeekeo man called police and reported that while at home, he discovered an unknown man in his home. The suspect fled the area after being confronted by the homeowner.
Detectives continued the investigation and Riveira was identified as the suspect.
