HONOLULU -

Honolulu police say a 33-year-old man suffered critical head injuries Wednesday afternoon in a motor scooter crash near the Hawaiian Humane Society.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m.

Traffic investigators say the man riding the motor scooter took the King Street off-ramp from the H-1 Freeway heading westbound onto Old Waialae Road.

The man lost control of the motor scooter and collided with the pavement, according to police.

Speed was a possible factor in this crash.
