A 20-year-old man accused of drunken driving before a crash that killed one of his passengers has pleaded no contest to manslaughter charges.

Kyer Valeros initially pleaded not guilty after he was arrested when the vehicle he was driving flipped over on the H-1 Freeway in Aiea in February of 2011.  Police say he was legally drunk.

20-year-old Erwin Yanuaria was killed in the crash.  Five of the other young men in the vehicle were injured.

Prosecutors say they plan to ask for the maximum 20 years in prison at Valeros' sentencing in December.
