A homecoming of sorts today at Makaha Beach Park. As lifeguards there welcomed a Makaha surfer into their Ohana. A very thankful surfer. It's all new at 6.... A hug and handshake that means much more than just howzit. Fred 7:13-7:22 THANKYOU SOMUCH MY FAMIILY APPRECIATES EVERYTHING YOU GUYS HAVE DO FORME THANK YOU SO MUCH MAHALO : Makaha surfer Fred Klettke was back at his favorite beach to give out awards and thank the men who saved his life. On March 5th.. The long time surfer ran into trouble 10;47 fred I WAS BODYBOARDIN G THE BOARD IN I WAS REALLY CLOSE TO SHORE AND THE BACK WASH RATHER THAN 2 FEET GREW TO 4 FEET AND YOU HIT IT LIKE A MOTORCYCLE RAMP AND UNFORTUNATLEY I ENDED IN AN X-GAME JUMP RATHER THAN JUST COMING IN 11:03 12:37-12:51 BOUVEY WE WERE WATCHING THE SURF LINE BUSY DAY FRED GOT KNOCKED BY THE BACKWASH GOT KNOCKED OUT... WE NOTICED THE BODY FLOATING..... HE RAN DOWN WE ALL FOLLOWED SUIT 15;59 mac BOUVEY GOT TO HIM, I GOT TO HIM WE CARRIED HIM UP THE BEACH AND PERFROMED CPR BUT HE WAS DEAD 16;07 9"56-10:16 YOU'RE A LITTLE SORE, HUH? OH YEAH, OH YEAH, THEY WORKED OVERTIME TO BRING ME BACK TO LIFE I WAS FLAT LINED. Three on duty lifeguards---- and a fourth Noland Keaulana who was off duty-- all jumped in and performed cpr until klettke was revived... And taken to the hospital. 10:04 THEY ALL TOOK TURNS DOING CPR AND RALLY don't KNOW WHA THEY DID TO ME. I'M GLAD THEY WENT AS FAR AS THEY DID! A strong team of lifeguards-- always keeping an eye out and offering friendly advice to beachgoers at the world famous beach. As for Fred? He says the experience hasn't scared him away from the ocean 10:19-10:23 NO. ITS ACTUALLY MADE ME FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE HERE. ABSOLUTELY. The four lifeguards recognized today were: Bouvey Bradbury, Lt. Mac Hall, Hall Danon and Noland Keaulana. Good job!!!
