The Hawaii Police Department said Queen Kaahumanu Highway near Kiholo Bay scenic point was closed at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday due to a crash.

Police said the road was expected to be closed until around 8:20 p.m.

The area closed is between the 82 and 83 mile marker on the highway, about 0.1 mile north of the Kiholo scenic point.

Motorists need to use Route 190 when traveling between Waikoloa and Kailua-Kona.
