The area of 24 Sand Island Access Road will be closed for a while due to a leaning power pole this Sunday afternoon.  

The northbound traffic is being held and the southbound traffic is being turned around.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area.  Hawaiian Electric is investigating if it is a wind-related problem.

There are no reports of a power outage.  HECO said they will take the next 12 hours replacing the pole.  Lanes will be closed during repairs.
