Maui police said a 39-year-old Lahaina woman involved in a two-car crash in Lahina on Thursday has died.

She was identified as Arlyn V. Visitacion.

Visitacion was the driver of a sports utility vehicle that was hit nearly head-on when a pickup truck crossed the center line.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

This was Maui County's 18th traffic fatality of the year compared with 12 at this time in 2011.  It was also the third traffic fatality in Maui County in August.
