Kuhio Highway has been reopened in both directions near the Mailihuna Road junction in Kapaa after a critical two-car collision Wednesday, according to Kauai police.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.  The road was reopened just before 5 p.m.

While details of the collision and the extent of injuries are not yet known, at least one passenger is believed to be critically injured.
