A new memorial at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl honors the sacrifices of American service members during the Korean War.
"Americans gave their lives. More than 103,000 were wounded; 8,000 went missing; 7,000 were captured; 40 percent of them died in captivity," said Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.
The new headstone was placed along the cemetery's Memorial Walk.
It was donated by the Republic of Korea as we approach the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean conflict.
