Maui County fire crews responded to a fire at the Hale Kamaole Condominiums on South Kihei Road at around 9 p.m. Thursday, according to fire officials.
When firefighters arrived, a third-story unit was engulfed in flames. The unit was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The fire was fully contained by 2:38 a.m. Friday.
Forty units surrounding the fire were evacuated until 2:45 a.m. Friday.
