Kauai Police said a sex offender was arrested on Oahu Friday morning.
Police said Brian Lopes was arrested by U.S. Marshals at about 9:45 a.m. in Waianae.
After receiving medical clearance from Straub Hospital, Lopes was transferred to the state's sheriff's office where he awaits extradition back to Kauai.
Lopes was the last of 24 non-compliant sex offenders previously wanted by police, authorities said.
"This arrest is an example of Hawaii law enforcement’s ability and commitment to collaborate and reach out across the state to apprehend those who try to elude justice," said Deputy Police Chief Michael Contrades. "We are very appreciative of the expeditious efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service."
Kauai police said they have an ongoing joint mission between KPD, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and the state Department of the Attorney General, aimed at locating non-compliant registered sex offenders.
By law, registered sex offenders must keep their registration information updated and accurate.
