Kauai County community meetings set in February
Mayor Carvalho will be at neighborhood meetings
County of Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr.
Kauai County Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr. announced Thursday the dates for the next round of community outreach meetings as part of the county’s ongoing outreach effort.
Meetings will be held as follows:
- Wednesday, February 13 – Kekaha Neighborhood Center
- Tuesday, February 19 – Hanapepe Neighborhood Center
- Tuesday, February 26 – Kapa'a Neighborhood Center
- Thursday, February 28 – Koloa Neighborhood Center
All meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and will include a report of islandwide and regional projects of interest.
Some of the islandwide topics that will be covered include an update on the new landfill location, customer service online surveys, the status of Coco Palms, and an update on the Islandwide Road Resurfacing Project.
Mayor Carvalho has promised to meet with each of the neighborhood centers and each community association at least once a year in order to maintain a productive dialogue with the community.
The mayor and his team will follow up with a series of community outreach meetings at the Kilauea, Lihue, Kalaheo, and Waimea neighborhood centers this August.
Special accommodations, sign language interpreters and interpreters for non-English speaking person are available upon request seven days prior to the meeting date.
