The Kamehameha Swim Club said its team broke the national record for 15, 16-year-old boys in the 200 Free Relay on Sunday at the Hawaii State Long Course Championships at the Central Oahu Recreational Pool in Waipio Gentry.
The team had a time of 1:36:37, according to the team. The former record was set in 2009 with a 1:37:12.
The record-breaking moment came as the Kamehameha Swim Club won its 20th straight state championship.
The club said several other state records were set over the weekend, as well.
