All sorts of water on the road, but nothing coming out of the taps! That's a problem you don't want.. And it's one the Kahala Hotel had to deal with today ... KITV4's Brenton Awa joins us with new information on this morning's major inconvenience.. Board of Water Supply crews are still working to repair that 24- inch water-main break near the hotel. About five customers are without service -- but many more guests at the Kahala Hotel were affected as well. NATS WALKING IN It can take months of planning... Thousands of dollars... And having to deal with a few bumps in the road... But this couple's special day was almost a washout! 39:09 - Crystal Manalo "THEY JUST BLOCKED OFF EVERYTHING AND I SAID I HAD TO MAKE A DELIVERY AND THEY SAID YOU CANT COME THROUGH SO I HAD TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE PRIVATE ROAD." Deliveries were on hold after this 24-inch water-main burst under Kahala Avenue. So was everything else. The road was closed, and guests at the Kahala Hotel resort were stranded. Water to the hotel had to be cut off at 5:30... And it stayed off for 5-hours. 40:00 "GOT UP IN THE MORNING WENT TO BRUSH MY TEETH AND THERE WAS JUST AIR COMING OUT OF THE FAUCET." We're told the resort is 80- percent booked. Having zero-percent water makes it a busy morning for staff. 1238 "WHEN THE TELEPHONE LINES WERE QUITE BUSY, MANY OF THEM WOULD COME DOWN AND ASK FOR WATER OR ASK WHAT WAS GOING ON." Management says its staff did a great job following its contingency plan. Bottled water delivered to rooms. Guests needing to come or go were assisted by shuttle or by a private road that the Waialae Country Club volunteered to open up -- creating a much needed alternate route. NATS DIGGING As repairs went on -- water was restored... The road re-opened. And thanks to everyone's help... NATS CLAPPING UNDER KISS The break that could've dampened this couples day... Did not... Allowing the bride to say "I Do... Have running water" Repairs are expected to continue into this evening. One lane of Kahala Avenue still remains open. The board of water supply is urging motorists to drive with caution in the area.
