Big Island police have identified two men who were killed recently in vehicle crashes.
The man who died August 2 from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash in Ka?u has been identified as 39-year-old Clint A. Corfman of Kurtistown.
Responding to a 12:43 a.m. call, Ka'u patrol officers determined that the victim was operating a 1987 Ford sedan and traveling southbound on Highway 11 midway between the 48- and 49-mile markers when he ran off the left side of the road, lost control and overturned.
A man who died July 29 from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash on July 23 on South Point Road has been identified as 25-year-old Steven T. Coss of Hilo.
Responding on July 23 to an 8:47 a.m. call, Ka'u patrol officers determined that the victim was operating a 2001 Mercury sedan and traveling north on South Point Road approximately 5.5 miles south of Kamaoa Road when he ran off the right side of the road, lost control, struck a utility pole and overturned several times.
He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
