Near the Sand Island boat ramp Sunday afternoon, two jet skiers crashed into each other.

Emergency responders say a 20-year-old man on a rental jet ski collided with a 16-year-old girl also on a rental jet ski.

The crash happened around 2:00 p.m.

The young woman was taken to the trauma center. She was in critical condition
The man was in serious condition.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources is investigating. A spokesman says it's not known if the two skiers were in the designated jet ski area off Keehi Lagoon's small boat harbor.
