Hundreds of concerned citizens joined Lanakila Meals on Wheels Friday at the State Capitol in the March for Meals to raise awareness of the need to fund Kupuna Care.

Meals on Wheels says that the budget for Kupuna Care of $4.85 million has not increased since 2002 while Hawaii's senior population has risen by 30 percent.

Now that the U.S. is in sequestration, the issue is being compounded, according to Meals on Wheels.
