A new on-line news site will start up tomorrow but tonight two on-line media innovators held a talk story session over the future of Hawaii's media. The CEO of Honolulu Civil Beat Pierre Omidyar and Huffington Post president Arianna Huffington led a discussion about HuffPost Hawaii which goes live at 6 am. The on- line site will cover culture, entertainment and lifestyle topics important to not only island residents, but also those around the globe. It also aims to break new ground by reaching out to residents to highlight hidden stories. ariana @14:04-14:19 "The addiction to meth is a problem that is not being discussed and to bring it out into the open. To get people to talk about it and not just listen to us but tell us their stories that is something we want to do" piere@12:40-12:56 "it matters what members of the community think and getting them to express it in a non-hierarchal way is really important and now we have a platform to do it in front of a large national and global audience" The new venue aims to give well-known and even unknown voices a chance to be heard. To go along with new ideas and innovations in media, Audience members were able to ask questions of the pair during this talk story session, but keeping with the innovations in media theme -- audience members had to tweet those questions in. You can hear more from the world-famous journalist and entrepreneur herself tomorrow. Tune into KITV4 morning news. Arianna Huffington joins us for a LIVE interview at 6-40 A-M.
