Hiroshima peace bell ringing for 67th anniversary of bombing
A solemn ceremony was held Monday to mark the 67th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima in Japan.
The annual peace bell ringing took place in Downtown Honolulu.
On Aug. 6, 1945, the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima leading to Japan's eventual surrender and the end of World War II.
The blast killed an estimated 140,000 people.
The event also included the announcement of a new Hiroshima exhibit at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Museum & Visitor Center.
