An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning on the body of the 38-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing in the upper Kaumana Drive area of Hilo, according to Big Island police.
The preliminary results from the examination showed that the victim, who was identified as Lloyd Rubio of Hilo, died from a stab wound to the abdomen with an injury to the aorta. The medical examiner ruled the death as a homicide. Detectives are awaiting additional toxicological findings.
Cherie Sueko Moskwa, 37, also of Hilo, remains in police custody while detectives continue the investigation.
