A brush fire that has been burning since Monday in Ka'u on the Big Island is now more than 5,200 acres large, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department.
The fire near Cane Haul Road along Alii Springs Road and Higashi Camp Road is now 95 percent contained.
The fire near Highway 11 is not yet contained, according to fire officials. However, Highway 11 was reopened at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire department helicopter is continuing water drops in the area.
