Kauai County Ocean Safety Bureau officials have closed all north shore beaches Friday due to high surf and strong currents.
Waves with faces between 15- to 30-feet-tall have been reported resulting in hazardous ocean conditions.
Beachgoers are urged to go to other guarded beaches on the island including Lydgate, Poipu, or Salt Pond.
For more information about ocean conditions, please ask a county lifeguard, log on to www.kauaiexplorer.com, or call the Ocean Safety Bureau at 241-6506.
