HONOLULU -

The medical examiner has identified the 16-year-old boy who died after a skateboarding accident in Hawaii Kai on Wednesday.

Reid Krucky died from head injuries from falling off a skateboard, according to the medical examiner.

Police say Krucky and another teen were on Kalanipuu Street when the accident happened.

Krucky was holding on the back of a moving moped while on a skateboard.  When he couldn't hold on, he let go and hit his head on the ground, according to investigators.

Police believe the moped was going 10-to-15 mph and Krucky was not wearing a helmet.
