9 a.m. - Volcano Village 4th of July Parade &Silent Auction Benefit.  The parade starts at the Volcano Post Office and goes down Old Volcano Road to the Cooper Community Center, where the silent auction is also being held.

10:30 a.m. - Turtle Independence Day at Mauna Lani Bay.  Hawaii green sea turtles, or honu, will be released to the open ocean with a traditional Hawaiian ceremony.

5:30 p.m. - Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade.   The Hale Halawai Pavilion will also be open with food booths, live entertainment and the jumping castle starting at 3 p.m.
