The city's Ocean Safety Division has recommended that Hanauma Bay be opened on Wednesday after three days of closure due to dangerous surf.

Hanauma Bay is normally closed on Tuesdays for routine maintenance.

Ocean Safety officials say that the strong currents at the popular visitor attraction have subsided.

The Parks and Recreation Department agreed with the recommendation and the lower beach portion of Hanauma Bay will be open on Wednesday.
