The city's Ocean Safety Division has advised the Parks and Recreation Department to keep the lower beach area of Hanauma Bay closed on Monday.
This is the third straight day the popular visitor attraction is closed due to dangerous surf.
City officials say the conditions are still potentially dangerous with strong rip currents and 6-foot-tall face waves. The sets are coming in every three minutes causing poor water visibility.
The best alternate snorkeling area is near the Natatorium in Waikiki, according to Ocean Safety officials.
City officials will reassess the situation Wednesday morning since Hanauma Bay is normally closed on Tuesdays.
