Kauai County's Department of Water has issued a water conservation request for customers in the Hanapepe and Eleele areas effective Thursday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This will allow work crews to tie-in a replacement pipeline to a segment of the Hanapepe Valley transmission line.
While the work is being done, customers in the affected and surrounding areas are urged to conserve water and restrict water consumption to essential uses. These measures may prevent the depletion of the limited water supply.
Essential needs include cooking; bathing; and toilet flushing.
Residents are asked to notify their family, friends, and neighbors that will be affected by the conservation request.
The Department of Water apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks affected customers for their patience and cooperation as improvements to DOW's aging infrastructure continue.
For more information, please call the Department of Water at 245-5461 during business hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For emergencies after business hours, call Police Dispatch at 241-1711.
