Kauai County Ocean Safety officials closed Hanalei Bay to swimming Monday due to shark sightings.

Lifeguards report that two large sharks were sighted roughly a hundred feet from shore fronting a surf spot known as "Pine Trees."

Warning signs were posted along the beach and the public is advised to stay out of the water until further notice.

Hanalei Bay was reopened Tuesday morning.
