Honolulu police say an 32-year-old man who was an inmate at the Halawa Correctional Facility was found dead Monday.

The inmate was serving a 20-year sentence for attempted murder, according to the Department of Public Safety.

There are no initial signs of foul play, according to the police report.

The man was found in a common area outside of his cell by an adult corrections officer who was making routine checks.

The man was pronounced dead at the prison.

An autopsy is scheduled to find the exact cause of death.
