Firefighters had a busy afternoon on Oahu Saturday trying to control two separate brush fires.
The first one broke out off Coral Sea Road near Kalaeloa Airport. 16 firefighters responded to the brushfire around 3:30 p.m. It was extinguished in about 20 minutes. No structures were threatened. Investigators haven't determined what set off the blaze.
The second brush fire broke out near Iroquois Point in Ewa Beach. Nearly 50 firefighters were at the scene trying to stop the flames from reaching nearby homes. HFD dispatched 13 trucks to the fire. It was first reported before 3:00 p.m. The wildfire was contained around 5:45 p.m.
