Supporters of Honolulu's rail project complained and the transit authority listened. Today HART gave the go ahead to add more seats to each rail car, once the system finally gets off the ground. But will all of those seats ever be filled?
If Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell has it his way, Oahu residents will keep paying the added rail tax for a long time to come. It's not something the mayor wants to do, but it's something the city says has to happen to keep the project going.
