Single, right-lane closure on H-1 west downtown is causing traffic backup Wednesday.

The Department of Transportation closed the right lane between the Liliha and Kalihi Street overpasses starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for pavement maintenance work.

The closure will end at 3 p.m.

It is not certain whether a closure similar to this is what affected surface street traffic in Honolulu on Monday. Heavy rainfall and other factors may have contributed to that evening traffic mess.
