The funeral service and procession for Honolulu Police Officer Chad Morimoto has been set for August 11.
State of Hawaii Police Officers Union President Tenari Maafala told KITV4 a procession will begin at 7 a.m.
Morimoto died July 24 during motorcycle escort training. Chief Louis Kealoha said Morimoto's bike slid out from under him, and hit a curb in Mililani. He died from injuries received in the crash at Pali Momi Hospital.
A funeral service for Officer Morimoto will be held following the August 11 procession. Viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Kalihi Street starting at 8 a.m. A funeral service follows at 1 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe.
Morimoto served with the Honolulu Police Department for 7 years. He is survived by a wife, and two children.
