Funeral services for former Honolulu City council woman Welcome Fawcett are set for Sunday in Wisconsin.
The 74-year-old attorney served on the council for one term in the mid 80's.
She died on the mainland where she had retired to be close to her children.
After serving the Honolulu community, Fawcett spent her time helping immigrants in California through the Canal Alliance organization in the Bay Area.
Another prominent island personality passed away.
Mel Medeiros, a popular Big Island broadcaster for more than 40 years, died Thursday.
The 72-year-old was known to fans as "mynah bird."
His son tells KITV 4 News that he was in California to see doctors at U-C-L-A when he passed.
Memorial services are still pending.
